Teddy Turner (McKendrick) has everything she could want on paper: a beautiful home, a successful fiancé, and a cushy job in the family business. But her life is dictated by her domineering father and boss, Ralph (Mullan). Teddy desperately craves his respect but lacks the dog-eat-dog attitude needed to get ahead in the family business: owning and managing private prisons. That is, until she learns about one of the prison’s most infamous inmates, Freddie “Fangs” Ferguson (Edgerton).
Teddy begins a secret correspondence with Fangs, revealing her desire to break free from her cloistered world and the social expectations that come with it. Under his unlikely mentorship, she begins to embrace her darker instincts, growing increasingly bold. But as Teddy sheds her timid, people-pleasing persona and becomes everything her father ever wanted, will she finally earn his respect, or discover that she’s become something far more dangerous?
